François Berthoud was born in 1961 in Switzerland and studied Illustration in Lausanne.
After he graduated in 1982 he moved to Milan and began working for Condé Nast and comic magazines. Within a year he was named art director of Vogue Sposa. He now is one of the most important employees of the Vanity magazine, for which he has illustrated numerous articles.
Berthoudsplits his time between Paris and Milan, while he contributes to many leading magazines.
